The Musante Legacy - Esperanza

Guieseppe Musante  founded of the Calistoga Water Company in 1926. In 1942 he brought his family from Italy to join him in Calistoga. His sons, Attilio and Carlo, instinctively knew the potential of the land in Calistoga and purchased a 100 acre estate which they converted to a successful working cattle ranch.

In 2000, Attilio’s sons, Robert and Paul, had the vision to convert (like father, like son!) part of the ranch land into vineyards and so their story begins. As the third generation of Musante Brothers, Robert and Paul wanted to create a legacy for their family. They started out planting a small quantity of vines to produce wine as a hobby and soon found themselves consumed with the passion of winemaking.  Knowing the same land has nourished their family for over 65 years, Robert and Paul continue to grow the cabernet and merlot grapes at the ranch.

Eighty years after Guieseppe started the famous water company, the Musante Brothers have infused their wine with the same  tradition of excellence that started so long ago. It is because of this excellence that the production of their Napa and Sonoma wines is confined to less than 2,000 cases per year.
