2005 Musante Family Vineyards "Atilio's Reserve"

atilios_reserve_2005100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Napa Valley's legendary east hills. Characteristically Cabernet, Atilio's Reserve is a full-bodied bold wine. The dark red, slight brick in color wine, is not one you will soon forget. Named after the founder's father (Atilio Musante), it has a nice entry with silky fruit flavors. Taste's of plum and cassis with a woody element, round out the flavors of this exceptional wine.

Speranza, 2005 Caberet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

speranza_2005A Bordeaux blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cab Franc), Speranza has the aroma of currant with a discreet note of vanilla in the background. On the palate, it is layered with light toasty oak and a touch of berries, shaped by light acidity and soft substantial tannins. It has the intensity of clear, dark garnet with flashes of reddish-violet against the light.

Speranza, the Italian word for “Hope and Desire”, which has defined the life of the Musantes since 1926. It is with great pleasure that they share their wine and extend Hope and Desire to you.

The winemakers for Speranza are Robert Musante and Marie Schultz, an award winning winemaker from Napa. Speranza is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. The grapes in Speranza originate from the Zimmerman Vineyards on the Valley floor and the Nichelini Vineyard in Chiles Valley. This wine was aged for 24 months in 50% new and 50% once filled French Oak barrels.  This is our most popular wine!

Tasting Notes

Characteristically Cabernet, Esperanza has the aroma of currant with a discreet note of vanilla in the background. Passion is the first estate grown wine for Musante Family Vineyards. It's a softer Cabernet than our Napa Valley wines. Bright purple/red in color with rounded tannins and a beautiful balance. Ripe blackberries, plum and a hint of spice are all flavor's you will taste in this latest release from our winery. A percentage of the profits from this wine go towards the fight against Breast Cancer.
